Equine Services is proud to have the reputation as a problem solver with even the most difficult lameness issues but maintains a common sense, client orientated approach. This includes a variety of breeds and disciplines.
When you bring your horse to Equine Services a variety of modalities are used to pinpoint the lameness cause or causes. First, routine lameness evaluations are performed with gait analysis, physical examination and flexion tests. A program of diagnostics is developed with the owner or trainer which may include diagnostic blocking (anesthetics), ultrasound evaluation, thermography, and/or digital radiography. A more detailed evaluation may be needed to further detail the injury and provide a more informed diagnosis and prognosis.
Equine Service is proud to have an experienced staff and “state of the art” imaging modalities and was one of the first facilities in Kentucky to employ nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan) and MRI.
After a diagnosis has been made, the treatment plan and options are evaluated with the owner and/or agent. Equine Services is able to offer a wide variety of advanced treatment regiemes tailor-made to the needs of the horse and desires of the client. Some of the treatment options include:
- Joint injections
- Extra-corporal shock wave
- Stem cell
- Micro-nutrient management
- Anti-inflammatory therapy
- “Cold” laser therapy
- Magnetic therapy
- Tildren therapy
